The Business Council of Australia has claimed proposed changes to corporate legislation run counter to sound company performance, good corporate governance and long-term shareholder interests. In a submission on the Federal Government's Clerp 9 proposals, BCA chairman Hugh Morgan said the legislation would subject business to "powers and intrusions" that would not be tolerated in other areas of society.
