The Federal Government has officially endorsed Australian Securities and Investments Commission deputy chairman Jeff Lucy to replace David Knott as chairman.

The Treasurer, Peter Costello, said yesterday that the Government would recommend to the states and territories that Mr Lucy replace Mr Knott, who leaves ASIC at the end of the year.
