WHS laws now in action
The Work Health and Safety (WHS) laws commenced on 1 January and will affect you and your organisation.

CTH: Reminder: Commonwealth Work Health and Safety Act 2011
January 01 2012 marks the commencement of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Cth) (WHS Act) for the Commonwealth jurisdiction. The WHS Act replaces the now retracted Occupational Health and Safety Act 1991

NSW: High risk work licences
The arrangements for high risk work (HRW) licensing in NSW are substantially the same as current arrangements, although there are some administrative changes that will impact registered training organisations (RTOs) and accredited assessors ( 05 January 2011)

QLD: Rural Plant Code of Practice 2004: Public Comment
The Queensland Government is proposing to amend the Rural Plant Code of Practice 2004 so that, amongst other matters: quad bike and motorbike operators in Queensland workplaces are required to wear an approved and appropriate helmet. The proposed changes are now open for public comment until 31 March 2012
